Pre-purchasing Positions
Before purchasing BURIAL or CREMATION positions at
Bunurong Memorial Park you need to have a full understanding of your
rights and responsibilities.
Pre-purchased "Right of Interment"
A "Right of Interment" can be purchased for both burial and
cremation positions. A "Right of Interment" for burial positions can
usually accommodate ashes of a person that has been cremated but
cremation positions can not accommodate burials.
Cremation "Right of Interment" - Is purchased for 'In Perpetuity'
(forever). Cremation memorials originally purchased with a 25 year
tenure can be extended at any time by payment of a pro rata fee to
extend the tenure by any portion of the expired period or may be
converted to perpetual tenure by payment of the appropriate fee.
Details of fees may be obtained from the cemetery office.
Burial "Right of Interment" A burial "Right of Interment" is
converted to perpetuity once a burial has occurred in the grave. One
year before the end of the 25 year tenure period for a "Right of
Interment" the cemetery office will begin a process of contacting the
registered "Right of Interment" holder/s to reregister their interest
in the "Right of Interment". Each registration will be completed on
payment of the appropriate fee. Details of fees may be obtained from
the cemetery office.
Once a position is converted to perpetuity no further payments are
required, regardless of the time period in which the plot is used.
Pre-purchase your "Right of Interment" and be
reassured, a change of address notification is all we need to maintain
your right of burial.
The Benefits of Purchasing in Advance
There has never been a better time to pre-purchase your memorial.
One purchase price can hold your memorial position until you need it.
This means you have the opportunity to choose exactly the style and
type of memorial you wish, relieving family members of the
responsibility and also ensuring a prompt placement.
Your choice, your opportunity to show you care about your family. That's peace of mind for you and your extended family.
REGISTRATON OF INTEREST IN A "RIGHT OF INTERMENT"
You may register an interest in a specific "Right of Interment" if
the registered "Right of Interment" holder is deceased and you provide
documentary evidence of that persons death and that you are a direct
descendent of the last registered "Right of Interment" holder. Any
interest so registered will be held jointly and severally with other
registered interested persons.
